The Problem
Isn't Your
Dog.

Most owners move faster than their dog can think. Steve teaches you to slow down, create the right conditions, and watch your dog choose calm on their own.

The Philosophy

Why Choice-Based Training Works

Most dogs with behavior problems aren’t bad dogs. They’re dogs who’ve never been given the space to make a good decision.

When a dog pulls, reacts, or shuts down — the instinct is to correct. But correction interrupts the one thing that actually creates lasting change: the dog’s own decision-making process. The more a dog is allowed to think, the more often they choose right. And the more often they choose right, the more it becomes who they are.

Steve doesn’t train dogs. He trains the humans around them — to build homes that feel calm and safe, to create environments that enrich the mind as much as the body, and to give their dog the patience and space to figure it out.

That’s Choice-Based K9 Care.

01

Your dog is reacting, pulling, or shutting down — and corrections aren’t working. Steve comes to you, observes what’s actually happening, and teaches you a different approach: one built around setting your dog up to choose the right behavior instead of being forced into it. What Owners Are Saying

“Steve completely changed how I think about my dog. I kept trying to stop the behavior. He taught me to create the conditions where the behavior just doesn't happen. Night and day difference.”

Sarah M. Koda, 3-year-old German Shepherd

“Our dog was reactive on every walk — we dreaded going outside. After working with Steve, we actually look forward to it. He gave us tools that make sense and actually work.”

James & Leila T. Margo, 2-year-old Border Collie mix

“I appreciated that Steve was honest with us about what we were doing wrong — respectfully, but directly. No fluff. And the results backed it up completely.”

Derek K. Bruno, 4-year-old Labrador Retriever
